Power and Light District
The buzzing Power & Light District is home to the Sprint Center, drawing big crowds for basketball games and concerts. Nearby, the College Basketball Experience tells the history of the sport through interactive exhibits. Cocktail bars and steakhouses in the area have a party vibe, and there are upscale clubs for late-night dancing and live music. The shopping scene offers chic boutiques for fashion and accessories.
Up-Down KC - Crossroads District
Funky bar featuring 50+ arcade games from the 1980s & ’90s, plus cocktails & lots of draft beer and pizza by the slice. This was one of Shubh and I's favorite places to hang out when we lived in Kansas City.
Country Club Plaza
Sprawling shopping area made up of Moorish-themed buildings housing stores, bar, & restaurants.
River Market
Airy market with indoor/outdoor stands of produce, baked goods, spices, flowers, crafts & jewelry.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
Art collection spanning 5,000 years in neoclassical & modern galleries, plus a sculpture garden. Large beautiful lawn to picnic on or to play with the kids.
National WWI Museum and Memorial
The nation's only public museum dedicated to WWI, with a large collection of photos, weapons & more. It has an amazing view of the city's skyline!
Zoo Drive
Zoo in Swope Park with zookeepers offering animal interaction & informative chats.
