We met through our mutual friend, Chloe (who is one of the bridesmaids). She gave both of us our snapchat handles and we started talking. This was right before I (Shelby) graduated in June of 2019. We talked for a few months and got to know each other over text. We didn't officially meet until July 26th of that same year, when we went midnight bowling with a bunch of people. That same night, as he was driving me home, he asked me to be his girlfriend. And so, our love story began.

Nick and I have always been ones to daydream about our future together. So we talked about how he would propose, what our wedding would be like, and more. He wanted to propose in front of a big crowd, but I didn't. So he compromised and did it in front of our friends. It was his birthday party and we were celebrating it at Tyson's (one of the groomsmen) house. Nick invited my best friend, Jessie (the maid of honor) to distract me as he and his friends went out onto the porch to set things up. The backyard and porch were beautiful, full of plants and flowers. As Jessie and I went out there, they were playing the song that reminds me of Nick and I's relationship (Only One, by NF). I exclaimed how much I love that song, and everyone laughed. I didn't understand why it was so funny, but I just ignored their laughter. Nick then pulls me to the side and looks at me. "I couldn't wait any longer to ask this question," he says and gets down on one knee. He pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. I, obviously, said yes! We both start crying while hugging each other, and everyone clapped.
