Shelby and Nick met at a friend's Halloween party in 2016. Shelby was dressed as a shark, and Nick was dressed as Nick Jonas (in no costume). Shelby heard through a mutual friend that Nick did not have a date to his fraternity formal that was the following weekend. After a little liquid courage, Shelby approached Nick saying he was going to take her to his formal and she would see him the next weekend. Nick had no objection and they went to formal that November and the rest was history!

Shelby and Nick went on a two week trip to Ireland, Scotland and England. Nick was very excited for his first trip across the pond, and very nervous with the precious cargo in his fanny pack that Shelby happened to come across while they were packing. Nick none the wiser was still very nervous. He decided to propose on a gloomy, torrential downpour day at Hyde Park in London. With some poor planning on Nick's part, right after he proposed they had to run to their reservation at the Winston Churchill War Rooms Museum. (What a way to celebrate being engaged, am I right?) After a rousing Museum visit, they were finally able to have celebratory beers with friends.
