Thank you for celebrating our love story with us

Little to their knowledge, Shelby and Mitch’s love story began in the 10th grade. From Shelby’s perspective, Mitch developed a crush, but due to parental conditions Shelby was off the market! However, this did not stop them from continuing their friendship and becoming best friends throughout their high school career. Later on, during Fall of senior year, they decided to explore their friendship further. After graduating HS and beginning their freshman year of college the pair finally went on their first official date to the movies! Still with their restrictions, as they were accompanied by Mitch’s little brother (and best man), Maurice. Mitch continued his education at Pepperdine University in California and Shelby went to Marymount University in Virginia. Their relationship continued to prosper through long distance. After Mitch’s graduation in 2016, he returned home and for the next four years their loved blossomed. The Engagement: On October 10th, 2020, Shelby’s mother was preparing the home for what Shelby thought would be an early birthday girls night celebration. When Shelby walked into her home, she was surprised by a slew of family and friends and Mitch got down on one knee to ask the question they were all waiting for: “Shelby Mone' Mayfield, will you marry me?” Without hesitation, Shelby replied “YES!”. We are honored to be surrounded by our closest family and friends as we celebrate our love story and union on Sunday, December 19th, 2021.
