Matron of Honor
Sarah was my first friend and we have been best friends since birth. Our moms were pregnant together and we always say we did Morse code through their bellies. We have been through literally every formative experience together- all aspects of growing up, the preschool years, the elementary years, the middle school years, the high school years (creation of the Home Team), the college years, first boyfriends, first jobs, first big moves, first apartments, grad school, and then real adulthood. I can't imagine doing anything without Sarah by my side. We made a pact when we were little that we were going to be each other's maids of honor (I'm sure before we even knew what that really was). I had the honor of being Sarah's Maid of Honor in 2020 and 2021 (thanks Covid) and it is surreal that it is finally my turn to have her fill that role for me.

Jenna is my sister-in-law and has become one of my best friends through the years. It is such a gift when your brother marries someone who you can connect with so well. Jenna is the sister that I never had growing up. We share so many passions including a love of the outdoors, home design/décor, dogs, babies, reading, photography and good snacks LOL. Jenna makes every family event more fun and she has been a mentor to me in many areas including marriage, photography and motherhood. Jenna also gave me the best gifts of my two nephews Bennett and Stetson. I can't imagine navigating this life without her and cannot wait for her to be the best Auntie to our future babies and for our kiddos to grow up together.

I met Erica my first day at Alma College... I was so shy and nervous and within a few minutes of our first pre-season volleyball meeting, we all had to choose "gladiator names" and she declared herself "Baby Jesus" and I knew this girl was not like the others. Within a few days, she was going down the slip-n-slide at freshmen orientation fully-clothed (while I didn't want to ruin my new American Eagle shorts and cami) making friends with every person we met, and I knew I had to stick by her. I immediately was drawn to her because she reminded me of Sarah- so sure of herself and confident, all the things I wanted to be. Erica is responsible for so much of who I am today- she got me out of my shell and comfortable in my own skin and created the confident woman that I am. We were teammates, pepper partners for every game, roommates, and best friends all through college and ever since- E made my college experience what it was and I will be forever grateful for her friendship. E also introduced me to Andria "Baker" and Andrea "Garrett" and then the "CUBE" was born.

As mentioned earlier, Erica introduced me to Andria (Baker). Our first date was watching The Little Mermaid in her dorm LOL! Baker was the mom we all needed in college. One of the first things I learned about her was that she never missed a day of school and got a car at graduation with a license plate that said "0 DAYS" and I already knew it would be our mission to get her to miss a class in college. We were roommates and teammates from sophomore year through the end of college and best friends ever since. Baker led the cube in all areas- apartment rental, interviewing, first big girl job, engagement, marriage, motherhood, family dynamics and juggling it all while trying to maintain the bodies, energy levels and metabolism we had in college... which we realized would not be possible. Baker is one of the strongest and bravest people I know. I truly don't think there is anything she can't do. If I can be half the wife and mom that she is, I will be doing pretty good. Baker was the first of any of my friends to become a mom and her first-born daughter, Ella, was our first baby. We got to spend so much time with her when she was little because she was the only Cube baby and we will forever have a special bond. Ella is our flower girl.

Danielle and I became friends in high school and she cemented herself into our group seamlessly, it was actually amazing how we ever lived without her. She went to the other middle school, so we missed out on a few years of her friendship and we will forever be trying to make up for that time. The formation of the Home Team was following our senior year of high school and we have been inseparable ever since. We have been through so much together and Danielle was the trailblazer in all aspects of adulthood- engagement, homeownership, marriage and parenthood. She is truly the most kind and selfless human and we are all better people because of her.
Bridesmaid
Erica introduced me to Garrett when I also met Baker- they are both named Andre/ia, but neither of them ever went by Andre/ia so that made it easier! Garrett is one in a million, and is the final corner of the Cube. She was there for so many of my favorite memories in college and since. She loves her friends in the most genuine and sincere way and you can feel her love and support viscerally. We were roommates and teammates and got the privilege of also being sorority sisters at Alpha Xi Delta. It was so special to have this connection that only her and I shared. Garrett is steadfast and determined in all that she does, and she has grace and patience beyond my comprehension. She will ALWAYS ask about you first and will send you that text or note out of the blue when you needed it most. Whether she is in the room next door or all the way down in Cincinnati, her friendship has never wavered. I can't wait to do this next season of life with her.

My Kelsey girl and I had a slow start, she was even more shy than I was in middle school and that's saying something. We were classmates in middle school, but didn't become close until high school when Danielle brought us together, along with Sarah and Brie forming the Home Team. Since then, Kelsey has become an absolute force to be reckoned with, she is a fierce friend, an incredible wife and mother. Kelsey makes everything more fun and she makes everything better. She reminds you who you are and what you deserve. She was such an integral part of my difficult years of bad dates, she never ever let me settle and reminded me daily of what I deserve, which is what finally led me to Matt. Watching Kelsey's journey through love, the way she navigated the endless hurdles of getting married in 2020 and motherhood has been incredible to watch. She even had her daughter on my birthday as the most special birthday gift. Kelsey's family is so special to us and her mom, Mary Kay, is our officiant.

Although our paths crossed in the early days of preschool, our friendship really began when I moved and switched schools in 7th grade and was the "new kid", Sarah immediately adopted me into their friend group and Brie and I became fast friends playing together on the volleyball team. Through the middle school, high school, and college years, we did a lot of growing up together experiencing a lot of firsts together. It's hard to remember a time when Brie was not in my life. Brie has always been my inspiration on my faith journey and has sparked so much action just by being in my life. From trying and visiting new churches, joining a small group in Chicago where I didn't know a soul, and continuing to pursue new faith relationships and finding a new small group that we have been with for the past few years. Brie is always inspiring me to take time to worship and pursue my relationship with God in an intentional way. Brie and I have been through so much of life together and she really knows my heart on a truly unique level. Our friendship will always special. Brie is the final member of the Home Team.

It is an extremely rare thing to meet a best friend in adulthood, especially when you already have best friends like mine. Erika was the "cool girl" I would see walking through the store and in the lunchroom when I started working at Nordstrom in Oakbrook, IL in 2012. One day in the lunchroom, we finally began to chat and found out she was moving to the city, a mere few blocks from me. From there I think it was 0 to 100 and the first time she came over, she stopped at my DVD rack and saw Dirty Dancing and Dawson's Creek and said... "Do you like Dawson's Creek" and it was like that scene in Stepbrothers... "Did we just become best friends?" "YUP!" Erika and I were pretty inseparable from then on. Once she moved to the city, we did all of our weeknight (because retail) bar-hopping together and took as many lunch breaks together as we could. We became the fastest of friends and she came to Gray Bash in Michigan and got to meet my family and the Home Team and Cube. When I moved back to Michigan, I didn't know what would happen to our friendship, but I was proven wrong with Erika's love and commitment from afar. We have jumped on planes and met in fun cities like Nashville, New York, Naples and Austin. We are the best LDBFFs (long distance best friends forever) and will always prioritize our friendship, even if it is through road trips, surprise packages, FaceTime and snail mail.

While we first met in diapers, our friendship really began in middle school when we were two peas in a pod as teammates on the basketball and volleyball teams- our summers were filled with volleyball camps or basketball practice followed by lake days and infinite slumber parties. As we progressed through high school, we continued to be teammates, but gained other friends and spent less time together. We lost touch through most of the college years and the years following. When we both moved back to Michigan, we were both at a mutual friend's wedding and I remember instantly feeling like not a second had gone by- that soul connection we had as kids was still there, but had just been dormant for a while. We snapped back into friendship like we were 12 years old again. I remember that flooding of my heart like this was something that had really been missing and it felt so good to have it back. We were both single and feeling a little lost, trying to figure out what to do next. We ended up moving out of our parents' homes and renting our first place as roommates (Princesses of Commerce) while trying to grow in our careers. We shared the next chapter too as we each went through the process of buying our first homes (independent women). It was so special to have Lisa in this season of being single and waiting when it felt like all our other friends were getting married and having babies. We really embraced the unknown and I will never forget sharing that with her.
Flower Girl
Ella Marie, our first baby! Ella is the daughter of bridesmaid, Andria Ettinger, and she was born when we weren't sure we were old enough to be adulting. Ella was the first baby of all my friends and family so we got to spend so much time together. Ella has taught me how to be the the best auntie and someday the best mama I can be. Ella has regularly reminded me that I needed to find a husband so that I could have babies and she could have more cube cousins. When she heard I was finally bringing a boyfriend to Cube Christmas, her first response was, "Can I call him Uncle Matt?" Ella has made such an impact on my life as an adult and I knew we had to include her on our special day. We love you so much Ella!
Best Man
My younger brother and I were very close in age growing up together in Troy, Michigan. Being close we were also polar opposites with our own interest and hobbies. Myself loving the outdoors and tinkering and Chris building his computer for gaming. Despite our differences, we bonded together quite well with friends in the neighborhood playing football and basketball late into the night when you couldn't see the ball anymore. Chris was always smarter than me when it came to board games and Nintendo 64, Bond 007 and Super Smash brothers. Chris asked me to be his best man for his wedding while we were disc golfing at Firefighters Park in Troy. Now that its my turn, Chris will take the honor of being mine. I couldn't ask for anything else in a little brother.

Shelby's brother Brad and I met Christmas of 2023 at her parents. Brad is an outstanding brother to Shelby and family man to Jenna, Bennett and Stetson. Brad loves to hunt, fish play golf and loves football. Most of our bonding was drinking and hunting at the family cabin this past year. Hope to bring in a big buck next season.

Steve and I met back in 2010 when I joined the fire station. We spent countless hours together during Tuesday night trainings, station outing activities and charter fishing on Lake Erie. We have spent countless weekends together at the station. Steve is always there lending a hand or arm when ever I needed help with something regardless of the situation.

Our first nephew, Bennett is such a light in our lives. He is three, but you wouldn't know it when you talk to him. He has adored Uncle Matt from day one, so much so that Aunt Shelb is now is second favorite. When told that we were getting married, he said "Yes, you can be my uncle, now come play with my cars!" We can't wait to have Bennett be with us on our special day!

Our sweet second nephew was born in July and is the smiliest little boy. We can't wait to spend more time with him and watch him grow. Uncle Matt is excited to take him into the woods to play and teach him to have a love of the outdoors. We look forward to giving Casey a couple of cousins to grow up with!

Our third nephew, Stetson, born in August, is so adorable and a very good cuddler. We have loved getting to know him and can't wait to see how much he grows between now and the wedding. We are looking forward to giving him and Bennett a few more cousins to grow up with.
Officiant
Mary Kay has been around for a while as she is a Home Team mama. Mary Kay has been an amazing spiritual leader and has helped guide me through some of the toughest times in my life, along with being there to celebrate with me during some of the best- including the day we got engaged when she brought us a beautiful cake (that she made) to celebrate. We have gone on some of the best adventures- Home Team mom nights out (dog food), Sonoma, CA (where is the Uber?) and countless wine nights where we can share anything and everything while cuddling one of our pups. Mary Kay has hosted our Home Team Christmas for the last decade and her prayer before dinner is always one of the highlights of the whole holiday season. She is the best spiritual leader, mom, gaga, mother-in-law and friend and I could not think of anyone more perfect to guide us through our vows.
