Our first date was June 24th, 2018 (same day we are getting married). Marty picked me up on a sexy black motorcycle. I could tell he was a little nervous for our date. When I walked up to him he did a one over not just "checking me out" but also to make sure my attire was safe enough to ride on the back of his bike. Right then I knew if we worked out he would always take care of me, and I was totally right! Anyway, Marty picked me up on his bike and we went to one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, a little KC BBQ joint called Woodshop BBQ. Yes we ate the messiest BBQ on our first date and it was perfect! After dinner we dropped in to Chuck's Hop Shop to have a few beers and talk the night way. As the night drew to a close I asked Marty if he wanted to come to my house to play card games. I was totally being serious too. I am a sucker for card games. I am not sure if he thought it would be something more but sure enough when he came over we played games into the wee hours of the night. After that night I spent almost every day with him. We were smitten then and still are 4 years later. I can't wait to celebrate my love for him. -Shelby

We were in Grand Forks, ND to visit Marty's family and celebrate his sister's wedding. Marty wanted so badly to get me in a combine that trip but due to time and my hestitation it did not happen so we snuck off one day just the two of us for some alone time before the wedding festivities started. Marty took me to a quaint park that he used to go to when he was a kid. He wanted to share that memory with me. While we were at the park overlooking the lake Marty kept fidgetting with my hands. Next thing I know he was down on one knee proposing to me. Of course I said YES! The minute I said yes to the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with it immediately started downpouring. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck...maybe that goes for your proposal too!
