We met in September 2018 through a dating app called Tinder. Mac instantly struck me as a handsome, dedicated, and strong man (all of which are qualities I look for in any person I meet) and swiped right (meaning I wanted to get to know him); we matched! From there, we began messaging each other often, turning into daily, asking how each others days were and revealed little bits and pieces of our lives to each other. After a few weeks of mesaaging and exchanging phone numbers, I invited him out for a drink after a long day of work. On my way to our first date, I asked him to send me a picture of him that i hadn’t seen on Tinder before so I knew he was a real person and not a catfish- he sent me one of the pictures that was on his Tinder profile. So obviously, my first reaction is “yep… he’s a catfish.”, “here we go, we’re getting played”, but I decided to just go for it- we had already been talking for weeks and he seemed genuine and honest so I figured ‘why not’? We met face to face for the first time at a CVS Pharmacy and I remember thinking when I pulled in “do we run for it? It’s not too late”- spoiler alert, I didn’t infact ‘run for it’. He got out of his Jeep and I then realized that Mac was indeed the man I saw online and his genuine and honest demeanor I was greeted with online had carried over into in person. We went and had a few drinks and ate cheese fries and talked for hours on our first date, and after that, we did one of the things Mac likes to do most- people watch! He returned me back to my car at about 3 am that night, and I knew that when we parted ways, I wanted to spend as much of my time- all of my time- with him. And here we are today, planning our wedding, and I still feel the same as I did that very first day.
