We're so excited!

Shelby and Joe met when Joe was studying with Shelby's new roommate at their apartment. Shelby was getting ready for a coffee date and walked by her roommate's open door and that is when these two first saw each other. He was immediately interested, but she took a few days to warm up to him. She fell for his goofiness and he for her compassion.

Joe bought the ring in July and asked Shelby's dad, Matt, to meet for lunch. They met at Jason's Deli, where Matt takes all his first dates, and discussed how Joe was going to ask and what he should expect from a life with Shelby. Joe made plans a few weeks prior for him and Shelby to take pictures on their anniversary at the one spot in town that Shelby had said would make a beautiful proposal site. Shelby of course had her suspicions, but Joe played it cool. When the day finally came both were buzzing with anticipation. They took a few pictures and their mutual friend and roommate, Aaron, asked if they were ready for, "the last pose" to which Joe dropped to one knee and quickly asked the question. Shelby's first reaction was to yell quite aggressively, "I CALLED IT!!! YES!" This was captured on film.
