Groom

Jonathon Chadwell Miller. Whom most people call “Chad” loves the outdoors and god. He attended Southwestern Assembly of God University in Wichita, KS where, as chad jokingly puts it he got an associates in chair stacking, and a minor in bible. He currently works for the City of Tulsa in the water department.

Shelby Schuler

Bride

Shelby has a passion for dance and children. She has worked with children her entire adult life and has continued that path after moving to Tulsa. She was raised in Eagle River, AK a small town outside of Anchorage. She has been raised as an only child though having 2 older brothers from her dads first marriage. She was incredibly close with her late mother. After her moms passing is when she reconnected with the Miller’s and began building a relationship with god and their family.

Jeffery Miller

Officiant & Father of the Groom

Rev. Jeffery Miller a husband, father, and grandfather, or “Poppy”. He has been married to Alesa for 40 years. He is a retired vet who served in the air force over seas and has been in ministry for decades. He is now a US missionary for the Assemblies of God and spends time helping churches grow and rebuild to spread gods love and word to lives of others.

James L Schuler Jr

Father of the Bride

James spent his youth working with his families horses in Texas. In his mid-twenties he served in the United States Army. He met Shelby’s mother in Fairbanks, Alaska. After moving to Kansas, where Shelby was born, the three moved to De Soto, Kansas. They moved next door to the Miller’s, and that is how Chad and Shelby became friends at 3 years old. James, Wanda, and Shelby moved away from Kansas in 2001 and returned to Alaska to be closer to Wanda’s family and they continued to raise Shelby together. James and Wanda got married on August 8, 2015 after being together for 22 years. Shelby is James’ only daughter and youngest child.

Alesa Miller

Mother of the Groom

Alesa is a wife, mother and grandmother or “Mimi”. She homeschooled all three of her children. She recently wrote a book titled “Behind the Parsonage Walls” and since has been promoting it on podcasts and other social media platforms. She is very active in Jeff’s ministry adventures and always has been. From being children’s pastors, to starting a church with him. Now traveling with him access Oklahoma and Kansas as a missionary for the Assembly of God. She has been with Jeff every step of the way spreading Gods word and love.

Wanda Richardson

Mother of the Bride

Wanda was the second of 6 children and the only girl. She was 1/2 Alaskan Athabascan, specifically Ahtna or Copper River Athabascan. She met Shelby’s father in Fairbanks, Alaska. Wanda and James relocated to Kansas, where Shelby was born. Shelby was her only child and Wanda had her 5 days before her 38th birthday. ln 2000 the three of them moved to De Soto, Kansas. There they lived next door to the Miller’s, and that is how Chad and Shelby became friends at 3 years old. James, Wanda, and Shelby moved away from Kansas in 2001 and returned to Alaska to be closer to Wanda’s family. They continued to raise Shelby together in Eagle River, Alaska. James and Wanda got married on August 8, 2015 after being together for 22 years. On April 4, 2022 Wanda passed away from a stroke at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. She was 62 years old.

J Lee Miller Jr

Best Man

Lee is Chad’s older brother by 12 years. Lee is a father and a husband. He attended and graduated from ORU in Tulsa. After graduating he chose to make Tulsa his home and to raise his family here. When he married his wife Nicole, he gained two daughters, later finishing off their family with a son, Jeffery Lee Miller III (JJ).

Callie Searcy

Maid of Honor

Callie and Shelby became friends when they were in 6th grade at Eagle River Elementary School. As a young teenager Callie broke both or her arms in a four wheeling accident and was given the nick name “Broken Arm, Broken Arm” by Shelby’s dad and that is still how he refers to her over 10 years later. Shelby and Callie have remained friends for 14 years, through Callie moving out of Alaska twice, and not seeing one another in person for over a decade. Callie grew up in Alaska and Texas, she now lives in Mead, Colorado.

Zach Thomas

Zach and Chad met each other while attending Southwestern Assembly of God University Wichita. When not in school Zach would help chads family process pheasants to make extra cash.

Brooke Edwin-Orrison

Maid of Honor

Shelby and Brooke became friends during the 2012 Chugiak High School Football Cheer season. They were on the team together for 3 seasons and spent many Alaska afternoons driving in Shelby’s car bonding and “jamming” to music. In high school the two joked about being twins and being the same person, as they looked similar to each other, and could finish each other sentences. After becoming close and sharing stories about their childhood, Brooke had realized that Shelby seemed so familiar and that one of her childhood stories was also familiar. Shortly after that realization Brooke connected the dots and pointed out to Shelby that the two of them had met years before in Nenana, Alaska, a small community outside of Fairbanks. A place Shelby would often go with her mom to visit her moms best friend. Brooke now lives in Fairbanks, Alaska and has a beautiful baby girl named Calli-Anne.

Chad met Fernando while attending Southwestern Assembly of God University Wichita. During school breaks, Fernando would help chads family process pheasants to make extra cash.

Amy-Lee Miller

Best Woman & Bridesmaid

Amy is Chads older sister. When they lived next to Shelby as kids Amy performed a make believe wedding ceremony where Chad and Shelby got married underneath the basketball hoop in their back yard at three years old. As children, Amy and Shelby were not actually fond of one another. Shelby was always playing with Amy’s toys, Shelby was not happy when Amy got the same toy wand as her from the dollar store after showing her new prize possession to Amy (Those are war crimes to a 3 and 5 year old). Fast forward 22 years and now Amy and Shelby have both grown up and love one another. Shelby is so excited to have a sister like Amy.

Katie is one of Shelby’s family members on her moms side. Shelby has known Katie all her life and is so excited for her to be a part of this very momentous day of her life.

Viola is Chad’s niece and is 13 years old. She is spunky and funny as can be. This last year she spent her time away from school taking piano lessons and playing basketball.

Nicole is a mother of three and Chad’s sister in law. She is a comedian, actress and substitute teacher.
