FAQs

Question

When should I book my hotel?

Answer

We recommend booking early! Our wedding is over Mother's Day Weekend, which is a popular time in Cape May. We expect hotels to fill up quickly. We’ve reserved a block of rooms at two hotels in downtown Cape May (see our Travel & Accommodations page), but there are also plenty of charming B&Bs, inns, and rentals nearby.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We recommend formal attire. Think along the lines of what you’d wear to a fancy evening out: Men: A dark suit and tie, or a tuxedo if you’d like to go all out. Women: A long evening gown, a dressy cocktail dress, or a pantsuit if you so desire! Formal attire is a step above cocktail but slightly less than black tie — polished, elegant, and celebration-ready!

Question

What's the weather like in May?

Answer

Cape May in early May is typically mild, with daytime highs around the 60s–70s and cooler evenings. Perfect for springtime by the shore!

Question

Is transportation provided?

Answer

We will be providing shuttle service between our hotel block(s) and the wedding venue. If you prefer to drive, parking will also be available onsite.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your little ones, but the wedding will be an adults-only celebration. Please reach out to Shelby or Jason if you have small children (or their babysitters!) that would like to be included in the Welcome Party.
