We would like to express our genuine appreciation for the outpour of love and congratulations we have received from our family and friends during this very exciting period in our lives. As the two of us continue our journey through life together, we hope to build on the love we have for one another, as well as the love we have for those around us. We hope that you may join us on our special day where we will say "I do" to a life full of love and adventure.
The couple met in the fall of 2012 through Taylor, the bride's brother, at Rhythms on the River. Little did they know that a few months later they would go on their first date! After (mostly) overcoming his fear of Shelby's oldest brother Michael, Eric asked her to be his girlfriend in February of 2013.
Having trouble deciding how he wanted to propose, Eric saw his best chance when Shelby's family planned a trip to Austin, Texas to visit her brother Taylor in September. On their second day in Austin, Shelby and Eric, accompanied by Shelby's family and a few very close friends, decided to go kayaking in Barton Springs. After a long search, they finally found a beautiful park on a hill to dock their boats and rest. Eric knew right away this was going to be the place where he would make his move. Once the rest of the group was aware of this (excluding Shelby and her mother), Taylor distracted Shelby while her best friend and sister-in-law began to place flowers in her hair. Eric quickly showed the ring to Shelby's mother to gain her final blessing, and when Shelby finally turned around, Eric was on one knee.
