We met through the world's best set-up (we are very biased). The origin of our story starts at Drake University, where Donny's sister, Annie, and one of Shelby's best friends, Emily, met and became sorority sisters. After getting to know both of us, Emily and Annie thought we would make a great pair. A party was thrown, phone numbers were exchanged and the rest is history!

We took a celebratory trip to London and Paris following Donny's graduation from his master's program at The University of Minnesota. As we boarded the plane, I turned to Donny and laughed, "How many of our friends think we are getting engaged on this trip?" Little did I know Donny was traveling with an engagement ring. Donny proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower, a plan he created with his Mom. I was so surprised by this move, my first response was "are you serious?" He was very serious.
