Our Story

One of the first times Cord and I hung out, he invited me to go with him to his good friends 30th birthday party that was hosted at Fubar. I was questioning coming all the way to BFE, but I was easily persuaded after he kept sending me daily videos of his baby calves, I just couldn't turn him down. Little did I know, I would be meeting most of Custer County that night at the bar and didn't see Cord for about 3 hours after we arrived to the party. Thankfully, I came to learn that everyone around here are very friendly and welcoming. Shortly, after this date, the Covid pandemic errupted in full swing. I was living in Lincoln at the time and transitioned to more Occupational Therapy via Tele-health. With Lincoln being shut down, this enabled me to come back on the weekends and Cord started to show me more about what the "farming and ranch life" was all about. Throughout the spring, he took me with him to tag his calves, pasture burns, several brandings and lots of "shed hunting" trips. Who would have thought these are considered big social events for people around here. I'm sure after watching me attempt to throw calves for the first time, Cord just knew I was the one for him ;) A year later, I moved out to Merna and I have grown to love this small town life :)
