Things To Do

Fall in Salt Lake City is full of fun to be had. While you are in town, here are some great things to do!
Hiking!

Hiking!

Here is a list of some of Trevor's favorite hikes in SLC! From beautiful views of the city to enjoying the fall colors tucked among the mountains, there is a hike for everyone here. Hikes listed for all skill levels.

Red Butte Garden

Red Butte Garden

300 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108

Beautiful garden tucked up among the foothills and nestled behind the University of Utah. On the weekend of the reception, the gardens will be holding a orchid show!

Tracy Aviary & Botanical Gardens

Tracy Aviary & Botanical Gardens

589 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84105
, (801) 596-8500

Located on the East side of Liberty Park, the Tracy Aviary is beautiful and fun for everyone. A great spot if you have some time to wander through and even see Andy the Condor!

Park City

Park City

Main Street, Park City, UT 84060

Park City has a ton of events going on all weekend long, including the HUGE Park Silly Market that happens each Sunday!

Oktoberfest at Snowbird

Oktoberfest at Snowbird

9385 Snowbird Center Drive, Snowbird, UT 84092

Fun for adults, and kids too! Events will be going on all weekend (closed Monday)

Salt & Honey Market

Salt & Honey Market

926 East 900 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84105
, (385) 368-6088

Salt and Honey is Shelby's favorite spot to shop. If you're looking for a place to grab something local to Utah to take back with you, go shop at Salt & Honey! You won't leave empty handed.

Takashi

Takashi

18 West Market Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
, (801) 519-9595

Takashi is where we went on our first date - the best sushi in town. They don't take reservations, so if you'd like to go, plan on waiting for a table (usually 20-30 minutes). It's worth the wait - we promise!

THE CHOCOLATE, a dessert cafe

THE CHOCOLATE, a dessert cafe

9120 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84088
, (801) 566-5330

The Chocolate is Shelby's favorite bakery - she even worked there for a little over a year! It's the perfect date spot. You can get cake by the slice, cazookies (cookie dough baked in a cake pan, taken out of the oven and topped with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream), or Magic Potato for our GF friends. All of our desserts will be from The Chocolate at our reception - we wouldn't have it any other way! This location is a bit outside of SLC proper (closer to the home Shelby grew up in!) but if you have a car and a free night, it's worth a stop.

Downtown Farmers' Market

Downtown Farmers' Market

300 West 300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Salt Lake City's Farmer's Market has been going strong since 1992 and attracts around 10,000 people every Saturday. Delicious food, food trucks, coffee, pastries (Pie Party is Shelby's favorite!) and so much more is hosted at Pioneer Park every Saturday from 8 am - 1 pm. Parking gets difficult quickly and vendors are known to sell out before 10 am so if you want to guarantee a delicious hand pie from Pie Party, the earlier the better!

Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade

Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade

54 West 1700 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84115
, (801) 953-1978

For a delicious breakfast spot, Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade is a hit. We love ordering The Hoss and having a mimosa. They're a busy hit so there might be a wait - plan accordingly!

Pig & a Jelly Jar SLC

Pig & a Jelly Jar SLC

401 East 900 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84111
, (385) 202-7366

Another fantastic spot - their chicken and waffles are some of the best. It's right down the street from Liberty Park as well, so you can follow breakfast with a visit to the Aviary!

For all the days along the way
