We met when we were summer interns between our Junior and Senior year of college and were randomly assigned to sit next to each other. Over the summer, we got to know each other by swapping stories about our weekends, colleges, friends, and everything else that interns talk about to help pass the time between 9am and 5pm. Rob would talk about his adventures on the golf course (before and after sunset) and the spicy peanut wings at the Sports Page. Shelby would share stories of weekends in the city and her (self-diagnosed) Gluten intolerance. We kept in touch after our internship had ended and headed our separate ways to college, Rob to Gettysburg and Shelby to Wake Forest. Despite the distance we kept in touch and still continued swapping stories about our weekends, colleges, and friends. Texts turned into calls, calls turned into Skypes, Skypes turned into 6 hour drives to visit each other. The rest is history!

We took a weekend trip to Newport, Rhode Island, a favorite vacation destination of ours. It was one of the first trips we took as a couple and we've visited almost every year since! Before dinner, we went over to the Cliff Walk to enjoy the view at the 40 Steps. When we got there, Rob got down on one knee and popped the question!
