August 15, 2018 (Marco's birthday)...Marco and Shelbie serendipitously ended up at Raising Canes in San Antonio at the exact same time for lunch. Noticing Marco's great looks, Shelbie, with the help of her best friend, "shot her shot" to introduce herself to this handsome man. After a Snapchat add and a phone number exchange, these two strangers instantly fell in love. They can't help but get emotional knowing their paths crossed at the exact time and that there was always an invisible string tying this little Ohio boy to this Texas girl. After 3 years of long distance and maturing into the people they are today, Shelbie moved to San Antonio and the pair moved in together. Another 3 years of living together came and went with the joys of new jobs, learning experiences, and their relationship becoming stronger than ever. On December 24th, 2023 Marco proposed to Shelbie in Disney World at Hollywood Studios on the private balcony of The Tower of Terror ride. The perfect day of food tasting, riding rides, and enjoying vacation at their FAVORITE place turned into one of the most memorable days of their lives. Since that day at Canes, it has been years of travels and adventure, many Disney trips, biweekly movie theatre dates, trying new restaurants in their city, and lots and lots of love. They can't wait to celebrate their love and history with their family and friends in October!
