We met through the singles ward on a hike. It was the first activity Jeremy attended in the ward and he immediately caught Shelbie's attention (she did a double take when she saw him). Fortunately, the intrigue was mutual.
One of Shelbie's favorite places to visit is Oregon and we were able to go there in September. A couple of days went by and every place we went to was gorgeous. And yet, no proposal. Then, while walking along the Willamette River, Jeremy proposed and Shelbie responded with a tearful (from joy) "yes!"
There are so many things we look forward to. We're excited to continue traveling together and experiencing new things, including starting a family.
Shelbie: I thought Jeremy was so handsome the first time I saw him, but quickly learned how funny and smart he is, too! He could keep up with my banter and I knew I wanted to keep him around. Jeremy: She was classy and put together. She loved music, art, traveling, baking and good movies. She always made me feel welcomed and cared for. She's hard to turn down.
Shelbie: I love how calming and grounding he is and he's always up for anything. Also, everyone lights up when they see him. Jeremy is incredibly loved and I feel so lucky that he loves me. Jeremy: When Shelbie first beat me in a game called Ticket to Ride, I knew she was a keeper. She's smart, organized, talented, disciplined, competitive, funny, kind and fun. What's not to love?
