We met at a local bar, in the small town of Sheboygan Falls. We were frequent customers of the bar & ran into each other there often. Our mutual friend, Greg, would always text Tyler for me, asking him to come out on a Thursday night. Sure enough, he would. I always tried to build up the courage to talk to Tyler, but it never happened. I would just look at him and giggle! How embarrassing, right? A few months later, after a couple Captain and Cokes, I worked up the courage to talk to Tyler! Earlier in the day, I had finished setting up my classroom for the fall and felt like that is what Ty wanted to know about, duh! I showed him pictures of my freshly-set-up classroom - to which he didn't seem super interested in - but nonetheless, he still listened. I'm sure he told me all about his Skeeter boat, how fast it goes, and how he's the master of catching big fish - but I had all the heart eyes for him that night and was in awe that we were even talking!! Then, the next thing we knew, it was bar close! I had told Ty to message me when he got home and he did! That was truly the moment the ball started rolling! We had talked and hung out for a few months before Tyler asked me to be his girlfriend.
Shortly after we started dating, Tyler took me to his turkey hunting spot, in the kettles, for a short hike - ending with listening for turkeys for 45 minutes. I really enjoyed the hike, but did not enjoy listening for turkeys - as it was getting cold and dark. However, Tyler was enjoying himself, so in the woods we sat. Fast forward to February 7, 2020 - we went back to the kettles for a nature walk - as it was one of the nicest winter days. We hiked through the kettles and reminisced on the first time Tyler took me there. After joking about how memorable that experience was, Tyler got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Making this time in the kettles more memorable than the first time!
