You can always change money at he airport in Colombia or at the hotel Caribe. But they will only change American dollars. Best place to go is Globex 2000 (locations in Montreal and Laval). They need 1-2 weeks notice, the rates are very good, and you only pay when you pick up the money.
Don't keep much cash with you. Save it for the taxis, street art, souvenirs, street food, etc. Everywhere takes cash, but, all restaurants, malls, and businesses accept credit cards and even debit cards.
The hotel Caribe has an ATM in the lobby that dispenses Colombian pesos. Credit cards and debit cards are accepted.
The package had a much better deal taking only the breakfast. You can ask for the the all inclusive offer if it suits better your needs. However, keep in mind that is a hotel in the city. So you have access to all restaurants, street foods, Mc Donaldds, burger King, Dominos. * As we personally know the breakfast at this hotel is a Gourmet breakfast (Not continental) with a vast variety of options from healthy, pastries, fruit, pancakes and local food (arepa de huevo).
