Can Bonastre Wine Resort

Mainly family will be staying (the night) here for two days (08/16-08/18) due to there being more guests than accommodating availability. All other guest will be accommodated in a nearby hotel (8mins away) for the two nights. I will provide payment information as soon as I have it. Transportation will be provided by us. Recommend hotels or Airbnb when first arriving to Barcelona and after the two day celebrations.

Best option is searching JFK or Newark to BCN nonstop round trip flights (preferably departing NY in the evening and arriving at BNC in the AM). I recommend searching and booking for flights as early as possible to find a great deal. (Jan-Mar/April) depending on guest plans after the wedding, cheapest way to travel to other European cities is either by train, driving, or getting flights from Barcelona to desired city and returning back to Barcelona to return to NYC.

Plans after the Wedding Day

I have provided recommendations of sites that can be used to book your stay in the city of Barcelona. I would like for all guest to arrive Wednesday August 16th which is the day before the wedding (08/17). It will be easier to arrive at the wedding venue and just book accommodations in the city for after the wedding festivities to not have to book two places. Wedding location is in the outskirts of Barcelona by the Monserrat Mountains. We will spend two nights at Can Bonastre Wine Resort & Barcelona Golf Hotel (08/16-08/18). The first night, Wednesday have a Barbeque where all guests can hang out with the bride and groom and have a nice time. The second day, Thursday will be the Wedding Day; during the day guest staying at Can Bonastre and also the ones that are not can enjoy a vineyard tour and wine tasting along with the use of the Spa. Check out will be 08/18 for all guests staying at Can Bonastre and Hotel Barcelona Golf. We will all explore the city after the wedding.

There is no Uber in Barcelona. FreeNow is an app used to contact local taxis. I suggest taking a taxi for those arriving on the 08/16th from the airport to their hotels. I am currently working on arranging bus transfer from hotels back to the city.

Currency Exchange US Dollars to Euros

Recommend exchanging a certain amount of money through your Bank prior to the trip. Find sister bank of your bank in Spain as the fees are less for withdrawal. Also most places take debit/ credit cards. But it’s always a good idea to have cash for the small mom and pop stores or street vendors.

Currently working on calling hotels in the city of Barcelona for the best deals to block out rooms for guests. Please stay on the look out for any updates on this site. I will be providing hotel name and location for booking. The dates will depend on your arrival to the city and departure. Would like to do this to have everyone in the same area/neighborhood.

Neighborhoods to stay in Barcelona

Las Ramblas, El Born, Gothic Quarter, Eixample. All of these neighborhoods are close to each other and to most attractions, beach, etc.

Barcelona’s main language is Catalan

Although everyone speaks Spanish in Spain, due to Barcelona wanting to become independent from Spain for years they have their own unique culture and language. Street signs, menus, store names, etc are in Catalan. Do not be surprise when going to a restaurant and the host asking if you want a menu in Catalan, Castellano (Spanish), or English. Other than that Spanish is a dominant language and English to a certain extent as well.
