It all began at Mount Saint Mary’s University, where we were both starting our journey in nursing school. On the very first day of our first class, fate stepped in—everyone had already grouped up for an English project, and the two of us were the last ones left without partners. Little did we know, that twist of timing would change our lives. After class, Matthew began inviting Sheila out for breakfast. What started as quick bites between lectures turned into long conversations, shared laughs, and a growing connection. Before long, study sessions became the norm, and one night, he brought her to his favorite secret spot—the top of the campus parking structure. Under the stars and the cool night breeze, it was there that Matthew asked Sheila to be his girlfriend. (Spoiler alert: she said yes!) We’ve grown so much since those college days. We’ve graduated, become nurses, and supported each other through every chapter. On our 7.5 year anniversary, during a trip to Monterey, Matthew got down on one knee by the bay and asked Sheila to spend forever with him.
