Derek and Sheila met in the one place that you're always told you can't find love. Yes, in a club! Attending an office party, you remember those, Sheila told a friend that the guy across the room had great teeth. Her friend's then husband hurried over to tell Derek Sheila was checking him out. After dancing a song or two, they parted ways and thought never to see each other again. A few days later Sheila got a phone call from Derek, who solicited her number from her friends, and the rest is history.

Our Son and Our Journey With Autism
In 2001 Derek and Sheila were blessed with their son Julian. Our autism journey started when a Day Care Director noticed that Julian did not engage with the rest of the kids. At home we noticed how he lined up all his toys, but being our first child we didn't know the signs. He also had limited words. After evaluation Julian was diagnosed with Autism. 19 years later, endless prayers, a hosts of therapies, and a supportive village, Julian is an amazing story of triumph over adversity, and progress is being made everyday.
