Site of fish throwing, the first Starbucks, great restaurants and a few very cool bars. Try White Horse Tavern or The Athenian, where Sleepless in Seattle was filmed and even more famously, Dan Shefte tasted the best clam chowder he’d ever had.
Ferry to Bainbridge Island
…or any other island. A quintessential experience.
Bumbershoot Music Festival
Fun and fairly chill music festival in Seattle Center, near Climate Pledge Arena. Always Sat-Sun on Labor Day weekend. They’ve recruited more local bands the past two years.

You will probably run into the bride & groom here.
Ballard Farmers Market
Sunday mornings!
Seward Park
Lovely, scenic and sometimes crowded loop. Flat and paved.
Discovery Park
Many hiking trails and plentiful parking. Largely unpaved and some steep terrain.
Lander Street Vintage
Our favorite antique mall. Recommend setting aside at least an hour.
Northwest Outdoor Center
Rent a kayak and jump out on Lake Union! If you want to upgrade the experience, look into renting a hot tub boat.
Gas Works Park
Can’t recommend enough grabbing a sandwich from Un Bien, throwing down a towel and watching the sea planes land from this iconic park. There’s no paintball option, sadly - 10 Things I Hate About You lied to us.
Museum of Pop Culture
Must-do for music and film lovers. Buy tickets at least a few days in advance just to be safe - they do fill up.

Tried-and-true, veg/vegan-friendly fave of Kate’s friend group. Reservation recommended. Pair with Octopus Bar down the street, perhaps.

Great sandwich spot near our venue in West Seattle.
