Warm/hot and sunny during the day, cool at night. Think tank tops and flip flops when the sun's out, and sweaters and slippers when it's not. If you're coming from a humid climate, prepare yourself for the dry mountain air (humidifiers, nasal spray, etc.). Keep an eye on the weather forecast as the date draws near!
No! Tahoe is a very popular vacation spot in the summer and accommodations fill up quickly. Book your plans as early as possible to beat the rush and feel relaxed heading into the wedding weekend.
How did you know? Be sure to bring sun screen to avoid getting burnt to a crisp.
Yes! Just be cognizant of the fact that this is an outdoor venue with soft ground.
Whatever you're comfortable in! Anything from casual to black tie formal. If you plan on wearing heels, consider bringing more comfortable footwear to switch into just in case (the majority of the grounds at the venue are covered in bark/soft ground).
Probably! Check back later for updates on this.
There is now! We'll push out the invites once Katie gives Andrew the green light. If you think your invite got lost in cyberspace, shoot us a text and we'll make sure you're not missing out.
Custom open bar. We're providing all the alcohol and the caterer is providing the bartenders, so leave your cash behind unless you'd like to tip (although gratuity is already factored into their cost). We should have a decent spread of liquor types, wine, and beer (and plenty of it), but if there's something special you want to drink, you're more than welcome to bring any alcohol of your own.
Yes. Tahoe has Black Bears, and if you're staying in a cabin, you'll likely have a metal box at the end of your driveway. That's called a "bear box" and it's for your trash. If you're unfamiliar with the practice, please pay attention to any refuse-related guidelines in your rental agreement, as you don't want unwelcome guests and the bears will break in to eat your popsicles. Most bear boxes are equipped with hex keys - don't leave these inserted, as the bears have figured out how to turn them. Try to stay sober enough to remember to bring the chips and salsa in from the back deck at night. Tip: If you do encounter a bear, make a lot of loud noise and it should scurry along. If you're unfortunate enough to encounter a Mama bear and her cubs...thank you for coming to our wedding!
Yes, there is a public parking lot adjacent to the venue with 2-hour parking that is enforced until 5pm, so if you find a spot in that lot after 3pm, you'll be good for the rest of the night! It's a medium-sized lot, but it's open to the public and Tahoe City can be busy that time of year, so try to carpool (or grab an Uber/Lyft). If the lot's full when you show up, don't panic, there's plenty of on-street parking and other public lots within walking distance.
