February 17th is a day that marks the unexpected moment when our paths first crossed, and our lives were forever changed. Our story began with a series of unlikely events. Sheena had stayed up late studying for a test that morning, and Robbie was running very late for our scheduled call. Both of us ended up not wanting to go on this call and we probably would have chosen not to, if it weren’t for our persistent dads. We both went in with the expectation that this would probably not go anywhere, but to our surprise we found ourselves having a wonderful time, sharing heartfelt and funny conversations that felt effortless and genuine, and led us to realize that amidst life’s uncertainties, there was no one else we’d rather share our days with. As we look back, we cherish our story not just because it is ours, but because it beautifully illustrates how life’s plans can pale in comparison to God’s unexpected and greater plan. We never planned on each other, but we are so grateful that God brought us together, giving us more than we ever asked for or imagined.
