Sooooo we've changed course a bit....

Hello Friends and Family! We hope you all are staying safe, healthy and relatively sane as we all continue to navigate this wild time. For us, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind of a week...and we want to share some fun news with you! After joining the rest of the world in wondering about what's around the next bend for all of us (and continually kicking the can down the road on sending out Save the Dates), we decided to flip all our wedding plans on their head. Instead of proceeding with our planned nuptials in Princeton with you all this October, we've decided to tie the knot down here in the Outer Banks in front of our parents and siblings…in just a few days (!). As you can imagine, this was a really tough call to make, but we think it makes the most sense for the moment. We're sorry not to be celebrating with you all in person, but we are so excited to start our next chapter together. Once Covid is finally defeated and the world regains some semblance of normalcy, we’ll figure out how to see all of you in person as soon as we can! In the meanwhile we’ll make sure to share lots of photos of the big day with you all -- we’ll be doing our best to make sure it’s one for the books! Love, Alex & Jess

Our Story

"You had me at Aloha"

While Jess will deny it, Alex is pretty sure it was his dance moves that first caught her attention. Though these were no doubt on display on Prospect Street years before, it took a decade and a trip 5,000 miles across the globe for the two of them to be in the right place at the right time together. Though neither of them were ever quite able to pull off “flossing” at Sarah Uehara and Aaron Yee’s wedding in Maui, their love took off right from the start, with a first date parasailing quickly followed by chasing waterfalls, kayaking and snorkeling in Hawaii (PRO tip: falling in love in paradise definitely has its perks). Since then, things have never been the same. While radar guns occasionally tried to keep their love asunder, travel back and forth between Philadelphia and the Outer Banks became somewhat of a weekend ritual. Their love has only continued to grow, held together by the Delmarva Peninsula, WaWa, audiobooks, "Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me!", and a love of random adventures. Since then, the two have done everything from driving through snowy mountain passes to creating a P-rade's worth of 10th college reunion costumes and parade props together. While both of them (mainly Alex, ahem) occasionally overthink plenty of decisions, they've never had a second thought about being together. So after a sail on the Potomac one autumnal afternoon, the pair happily agreed to spend the rest of their lives together at Belle Haven Marina. And here we are!
