Hopefully third time is the Charm! We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!

Fate tried to bring us together back in early 2014 when we both attended our school trips to Costa Rica. It tried so hard it even put us in the same dance class where we each have pictures of the other in the background. At one point our groups even hung out at the hotel, but Brandon decided to stay in his room. After failing to make us meet (mostly due to Brandon's stubbornness) fate took another chance on July 3rd 2014. This time fireworks flew and the rest, as they say, is history!

This past summer we prepared for an exciting trip through the Icelandic coast and Western Norway. We were celebrating graduating college and starting the next chapter of our lives! The second day in Iceland started with an early drive, we planned on hitting multiple sights including three waterfalls. Our second stop was Seljalandsfoss, the one waterfall where we all prepared to get the most soaked! We geared up in our raincoats, boots and ridiculous looking water pants and walked towards the falls. We took a bunch of goofy pictures, I was incredibly aware of how I looked with my hair tucked into my hood and six layers of waterproof clothing! Me and Brandon went to pose on one rock that stuck out in a perfect photo spot. We waited for everyone to clear away and it was really just us and his parents at this super crowded tourist spot, and mid-photo he got down on one knee and popped the question! I was honestly so shocked and surprised I didn't even realize what was happening at first. In true Brandon fashion he totally took my breath away!!! We kept the proposal a secret from everyone except our immediate family for the rest of the trip and it was amazing being able to celebrate our engagement on such an incredible trip!

I honestly don't know when I decided I was going to propose but I can tell you that the moment was no different than any given day relaxing at home with Jess. It was more of a realization of how much happier a simple night in made me that even my craziest adventure solo. When I got home for my senior year spring break I was totally decided and sat my parents down to tell them what was going to happen. I had the ring that night as if it was destiny and the perfect ring presented itself as the first ring I looked at (I looked at hundreds more but kept coming back to that one). When it came time to leave for the trip, I gave my mom the ring figuring if security decided to search her bag my parents would probably be on a different line and my secret would be safe.... Wrong! My mom and Jess got sent to the other line together. Thankfully my secret was not spoiled. When we got there my dad kept asking me when I would do it and honestly I had not clue but I knew it would happen in the first few days. On the second day we planned on stopping at a few waterfalls and I thought this would be a cool idea for a background. When we walked up to Seljalandsfoss waterfall, I saw a rock over hanging the water of the pool below the falls and being soaked by water. Well of course in my head this was the perfect spot and I turned to my parents and simply said "Here". After taking a few normal pictures, I took the big chance and thankfully SHE SAID YES!!
