On June 21st, 2015, Nate was severely hungover after having soldiered through his 21st birthday party the night before being shipped off to teacher boot camp. Sympathetic to his woes, Sarah struck up a conversation with the then shell of a man, which kicked off a friendship full of ups (there was that one time Sarah lost a bet and had to brush her teeth with Tabasco sauce) and downs (Sarah was apparently too tired to go out with Nate on his actual 21st birthday?!). Soon, Sarah and Nate would find themselves newly minted teachers in Baltimore. Nate is an idiot and only had a motorcycle to get him to and from work, so when it started to get colder, he needed to find a new way to get to school. Luckily, Sarah was teaching at a school near his and they began carpooling. They started each day exhausted and full of dread, but with each other. Over time, their friendship blossomed into something more and on January 29th, 2016, they became "official." They would experience a lot of life together: graduation and expulsion, boring hometowns and exciting ones, hot summers and cold winters, Game of Thrones Seasons 1-6 and Seasons 7-8. On May 23rd, 2019, Nate popped the question to Sarah after presenting his best attempt at artwork—a collage composed of a trinket from every date they had ever been on. Tickets from the movies they'd watched, coasters from breweries they visited, maps from museums they explored. She first asked him if he was serious, then mistakenly said, "yes." Too prideful to admit her error, Sarah's just going to get married to Nate.
