Our story began at a local McDonald's (very romantic, we know!). Makayla and Kyle shared mutual friends; therefore, they only knew of each other as their friends shared stories about the other. It wasn't until Kyle made a visit to McDonald's for his favorite chicken nuggets that Makayla was able to put a face to the name! Very shortly after this visit, Kyle constructed a witty and corny pick-up line to "make the first move." Thankfully for Kyle, Makayla is a sucker for corny jokes. As the weeks progressed, Kyle continued to visit Makayla during her closing shifts to help her drill flashcards as she worked to achieve her Bachelor's Degree. Eventually, Kyle grew tired of only hanging out with Makayla during her scheduled breaks. Kyle took Makayla to one of his favorite local hiking trails, Kaaterskill Falls. Makayla put on a good front that she was an avid hiker; however, Kyle quickly realized that this was a facade as she complained the entire hike. After a few more outdoor adventures, Makayla and Kyle realized that life was much better when they were with each other.

Kyle carefully carried the ring halfway across the world, protecting it from TSA, camels, and hagglers during a family vacation to Egypt. Kyle planned a private dinner with hand picked flowers from the city where their cruise ship was docked for the day. Kyle practically had to drag Makayla to the sundeck because it was already past her scheduled dinner time. Kyle popped the question as the ship traveled along the Nile River. (And for the remainder of the trip, they were treated like Pharaohs with bottomless cocktails)
