The Adventure of Jean and Sho

The story of us

Jean and I met online in late December of 2008. He was in Florida, I was in Long Beach, California. We connected through messenger on Facebook before eventually, Jean asked for my number. When we talked, we vibed instantly and talked close to three hours. We remained friends for a year before realizing that we both wanted to take things further romantically. In 2010, Jean flew me out to Florida and I became his girlfriend. We dated long distance for six months before we decided we wanted to be in the same state. Jean soon moved out to Long Beach and we dated for a month before I broke off our relationship. We remained best friends despite the heartbreak that I put him through. Over the next four years we both dated other people, and of course, neither relationships worked out. We still stayed connected. In 2014, I got the opportunity to live in Italy and shared this with Jean. Unbeknownst to me, he was interested in pursuing me again, and after finding out about my move, didn’t tell me. Obviously, I did not live in Italy, and after 5 weeks, I moved back home to Denver, Colorado. Jean and I connected again that summer. This time we tried to make it work and pursue a relationship again. Unfortunately, he chose to pursue another relationship, and my heart was the one aching. This relationship did not last but, it’s what brought him out to Denver, CO. We were not friends during this time but our love remained. His heart ached for a renewed relationship with God and my heart ached for peace. Our needs were both met when we both stopped listening to ourselves and listened to God. And God wanted us to talk. We obeyed. Over time, we redeveloped our friendship that took off like fireworks and the results were spectacular. In over six months we saw the true depths of our love and the beauty of our journey. On July 21, 2018, we officially dated again. On December 21, 2018, he asked me to be his wife. And on July 21, 2019, we will become husband and wife!
