This oft-photographed lighthouse was built in 1879 on a tiny, off-shore island, or 'nubble,' in York. It features a Victorian keeper's house with gingerbread trim and a lantern with miniature cast-iron lighthouses on its railing. It's so close to land you can view it easily from York's seaside Sohier Park.
A small, sandy beach nestled along a rocky shoreline. This beach is walking distance from Stage Neck Inn and is a hidden treasure. York Harbor Beach has bathrooms and next to where the Cliff Walk starts.
York’s largest beach. Lot’s of room to find your own area for the day! Arrive early for a good parking spot and it does have bathrooms.
Tranquil coastal walk through Steedman woods with a wiggly bridge and beautiful scenery. Roughly 1.5 mile hike!
Smaller beach next to downtown. Very popular! Playground, bathrooms, restaurants and shops all right next to beach.
Ogunquit is the next beach town over! A very short drive from York. Ogunquit is a great place to spend a day exploring. You will find beautiful beaches with sandy dunes, a fun and vibrant downtown with shopping, restaurants, live music and great nightlife, a cliff walk and more. I highly recommend taking one day and spending it in Ogunquit! Parking fills up quick so get there early!!
