Take a glimpse into how our love story began, filled with modern day chivalry and romance; history in the making. To begin, our home towns were only 20 minutes apart in Southeast Iowa, however, it took almost 19 years and 3 hours from home for our paths to cross. We still did not meet until the both of us were in Ames, IA. Our first conversation wasn't until later, scrambled, and in between bites of Jeff's pizza at the end of the night. No numbers were exchanged, and after that day, we really didn't talk to each other, unless we happened to be in the same place, downtown Iowa City. Unbeknownst to me, Dillon would stumble on his words because he had a crush on me! He finally made a move when we were at the same birthday party in January of 2017. He sat by me and we talked, I bought him a shot of Jameson, and then he asked me back to his apartment where we sat in his kitchen, shared a "Not Your Father's Root Beer", and chatted for hours. That's when I realized he was pretty fly for a white guy. Following, in February, Dillon asked me on our first date. We went to brunch and spent the day driving back roads around Iowa City. After a few months of courting, Dillon officially asked me to be his girlfriend. He looked me in the eyes and said "soo, uh, are we dating?" Like any girl in shock, I eagerly asked "are you asking me to be your girlfriend?" He responded with a confident nod. Dreamy. Soon after, Dillon graduated from the U of I, and was relocated by the Air Force to a small town known as Del Rio, Texas for pilot training. We spent 5 months away from each other until Dillon came home and asked the question "will you marry me?" in a flood of emotional joy, I said YES. After 3 months I packed up my belongings and drove 20 hours down to Texas. We promised our lives to each other in a Del Rio courthouse. Now, we want to celebrate with all of our friends and family as we start this next chapter in our lives. We hope to see you there!
