Shayna and Nick both played on the tennis team at RIT. The first time they met was at a pre-season tennis tournament in Buffalo. Nick asked Shayna to be his girlfriend about 6 months later, and they dated all throughout college. After college, Shayna and Nick dated long-distance for about two years until Shayna moved to Arlington, VA to be closer to Nick. Nick proposed to Shayna in June 2025 at a winery outside of DC surrounded by their parents and close friends. To this day, Shayna and Nick share a love for tennis. They play recreationally on a few teams together, and even get to be mixed doubles partners from time to time.
