In order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off!
Shay was on a special duty as an Honor Guardsmen at Macdill AFB late 2018. Although she was volun-told for this special duty, she was offered the oppurtunity to train the next class after her. She accepted and little did she know, she’d soon meet her future husband. The first day came around and a man named Kevin walked in the door and instantly caught the attention of Shay. While Shay was crushin’ on Kevin she had to keep a professional demeanor and not show to much emotions. Throughout the whole training process she was dropping hits to Kevin, who seemed to pick up on them quickly but was still a little unsure. Fast forward a few weeks later and Shay invited a group of people out to go downtown for a couple drinks and to dance as a celebration to completing their training! That group included Kevin. They instantly hit it off and fast forward almost a year later and Kevin planned a proposal that Shay would never forget!
Shay had recieved an email in the beginning of June requesting volunteers to “unfurl” (hold) the flag for the 4th of July game taking place at the Tropicana field! She asked Kevin later that day if he’d like to volunteer with her; they had no plans made for the 4th and figured it’d be the perfect opportunity to see a baseball game for free! Fast forward to the 4th of July. They got up, ate breakfast, got ready, everything seemed normal as could be! They made their way to the stadium in uniform to hold the flag for the playing of the national anthem. They ran a practice run and Kevin kept mentioning that he was nervous and Shay agreed saying that she was nervous to hold the flag as well! Little did she know Kevin was nervous for another reason! They walked onto the field, standing side by side, opened the flag and waited for the playing of the first note. Before the song began, a woman with a microphone stood next to Kevin and introduced herself to the both of them. Shay thought that the woman was just assisting holding the flag and thought nothing of her over-friendliness towards just her and Kevin! As the final note ended, they were pulled off to the side by the woman and she asked something to Kevin. Shay couldn’t make out the words because of the echo in the stadium so she’s laughing and giggling because she knows how much Kevin hates public speaking, but when he responded immediately she was confused, not sure how he knew what to say so quickly. Before she knew it he transitioned from both feet to one knee and she was in so much shock that the stadium went quiet and all she saw was Kevin cheesing so hard up at her with a ring box open, asking her to marry him. They hugged tight and she said “yes a million times” as she cried and laughed!
