Shaylie was living her dream life in Hawaii, except for one minor aspect. Her dream of finding an island boy wasn't playing out as she had hoped. She decided to download Hinge and see what her options were like back in Utah for when she returned the following month. Her and Tanner matched and you could say it was love at first sight. HAHA. If only. Shaylie claims to have swiped on Tan just because she was bored, and Tan swiped bc Shay had a deadlifting video and thought she would go to the gym with him (however, that only lasted for a short time, lol). They started talking toward the end of November, and haven't stopped talking since. When she got back to Utah they went on their first date. Their first date consisted of a nice lil gym sesh (where Shaylie was mostly just fascinated in Tanner's muscles), and Tanner was interested in asking Shaylie a bunch of interview-like questions. But the second date, they realized there may be something there and kept seeing each other from that point on. They became official January 10, 2024 and had the best, hardest, and most rewarding year together. They went on tons of dates; helped each other through job changes and promotions; traveled to California three times, Vegas twice, St. George twice, and Idaho once; Experienced the loss of Shaylie's dear grandpa and aunt; and made it through a longgg (super fun) football season. Through the highs and lows, they became each other's rock, and now can't imagine doing life without each other. Tanner brings safety, love, and comfort to the relationship, while Shaylie brings silliness and spontaneity. They truly balance each other out, and cannot wait for all the adventures that await them! Shaylie is so happy to have found her "island boy" in Utah, and Tanner is forever grateful to have found his island-loving girl.
