Shayla and Ronald first connected on MySpace in 2007. When they first met in person a few months later, it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies. Shayla and Ronald dated on and off for awhile before losing touch. In October of 2009, Ronald stopped by Shayla's sister's house during the Mummer's Day Parade. Shayla was surprised to see Ronald but was happy he stopped by to say "hello". In the beginning of December of 2009, Shayla reached out to Ronald via text to say that he was the one she needed in her life. On December 15th Shayla and Ronald made it official. Fast forward eight years to December 15, 2017, Ronald took Shayla to her sister's house where he need to pick up a pair of cordless headphones, or so he told Shayla. Once at her sister's house, Ronald surprised Shayla by walking into the living room wearing a Redskins jersey. Shayla laughed and asked why he was wearing it. Ronald turned around so she could read "Marry Me" on the back. Ronald then got down on one knee and took out the ring. Shayla was shocked, she couldn't believe it! After eight years, Shayla said "yes" to Ronald's proposal.
