Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Wedding Website of Shayla Betts and D'Won Walker
Question

Do I need to be vaccinated to come?

Answer

We strongly prefer everyone to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks before attending our wedding. We are suggesting but not requiring masks or distancing (subject to change based on CDC guidelines). While proof of vaccination will not be required, to maintain the health and safety of all our guests, we do ask that you be fully vaccinated and boostered and/or receive a negative COVID test within 24 hours of our big day.

Question

When Should I RSVP?

Answer

We are asking all guests to RSVP no later than Sunday, May 15th, 2022.

Question

Do I have to RSVP? Can't I just tell you if I am going to be there or not?

Answer

We would love to hear that you are coming but, yes, for the sake of our sanity, everyone still needs to RSVP on our website whether or not you are able to attend, as it is far easier for us than sifting through 50 forms of communication for RSVPing. :-)

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

While we would love for everyone to be able to bring a plus one, due to venue capacity, spacing, and monitoring pandemic protocols, we ask that only those included in your invitation RSVP. Please refer to the guests listed on your invitation's envelope for details, and feel free to contact the Bride or Groom with specific questions. :-)

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, we are planning an adult-only affair. To allow all wedding guests, including parents, a night of relaxation and uninhibited celebration, we respectfully ask that no children attend our wedding festivities. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. We look forward to celebrating with you at another time :-)

Question

Will the events be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the wedding ceremony will be outdoors. The remainder of the evening (cocktail hour and reception) will be indoors. Feel free to bring a jacket or shawl for your comfort.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding and reception is semi-formal. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Ladies should wear cute and classy cocktail dresses and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive to the ceremony early! We request that attendees arrive by or before 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will start on time and you may not be able to join late.

Question

How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided? Is there free parking?

Answer

We will not be providing transportation to the venue, but the wedding venue is just a short ride to and from the suggested hotel. There is free parking available onsite. Car share services like Uber or Lyft may also be available. Please see the 'Travel and Accommodations' tab on our wedding website for more details. :-)

Question

Is the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes. The venue will also provide a golf cart for those who need assistance :-)

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Yes! We have a group block of 20 rooms at the Courtyard Hotel (see 'Travel' tab for more information). Rooms must be booked by May 21, 2022 under "Walker Betts Wedding" to receive the group rate.

Question

I have dietary restrictions and/or allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

Answer

We strive to make our wedding as inclusive as possible. Please let us know of all dietary restrictions and allergies as soon as possible so that we can accommodate them in advance with the venue. You can contact us individually or include the information when you RSVP.

Question

Do you have a registry? How should I deliver your wedding gift?

Answer

While your presence at our event is the greatest gift, we will humbly accept any additional gestures of love. You can find our registry on this website under the "Registry" tab. We prefer you mail physical gifts to our home address. However, if it is easier for you to bring them to the event feel free! Thank you!

Question

Do you have wedding hashtags for social media?

Answer

Yes we do! We request that all wedding photos added to Instagram receive the hashtags #WalkerDownTheAisle623 and #AllBettsAreOff2022. You can also tag the bride @shayla.elise. We kindly request that photos are not posted to any other social media platforms without our consent.

Question

Can I take home centerpieces, decorations, etc.?

Answer

No. Some of the decorations are borrowed, rented, or will be kept by the bride and groom so please only leave our reception with a full belly and memories of the evening :-)

Question

How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?

Answer

Any updated information will be posted directly to our wedding website. We encourage you to check back often, especially in the days leading up to the event.

Question

If I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

You can contact us via phone or email. For fastest response, please contact the bride :-P
