Who knew in 2017 I would meet my person? After a long day of work at Grand Adventures we ended up at The Ditch for dinner and too many drinks. At the time I was living in downtown Winter Park and at 24 it was perfect! When I was getting ready to head out into the 10 degree weather I was asked by Chris if I would like a walking buddy. I said yes not thinking anything of it. When we got to my apartment I told him to have a good night and that I was going to take Layla for a walk. He quickly asked if he could join and our evening continued. Now remember, it was 10 degrees outside. I was wearing a heavy winter jacket and Chris was wearing a sweatshirt... we walked for another half hour. I was nice and warm and he was shivering but denying he was cold. We talked about life, the outdoors, and of course work. From that night I knew I wanted him in my life in some capacity. We did have a few years where we only saw each other in passing but each time we saw each other the friendship and caring for each other was still there. 2020 rolled around and we were both in a transition period in our lives. We met up and it was like we hadn't missed a beat. We spent 2020 hanging out and being friends again and then we started spending more and more quality time together. Chris was living out of his truck at the time (by choice) and I was living with my amazing friends Alex & Gene while I found housing. When Alex & Gene found out about Chris's sleeping situation they invited him to stay in their home and he and I spent even more time together. We found that we work well together and enjoy each other's company. One puppy, many adventures, and a few years later here we are! And I couldn't be happier. Cheers to more adventures!
