Q & A

"Welcome to our wedding FAQ page! Here, you’ll find all the important details about our big day—from how to RSVP to what to wear, where to stay, and everything in between. We’ve tried to be as thorough as possible with our wedding website, so please take a moment to read through all the FAQ's and other pages. But if you still have a question, concern, or there are details we missed, please reach out to Brandon or Shaye :) Make sure to check back closer to the big day as we will be adding to the Q&As as more details are confirmed.
Question

Where will wedding updates be posted?

Answer

The home page of our wedding website has an "announcement" section where we will post any changes or information we want to share with our guests.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Kindly RSVP before March 28th,2025. If you are unable to attend we would appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. Any RSVPs received after March 28th,2025 will be marked as a “no”. We will miss you celebrating with us; however we must promptly provide total headcount to vendors shortly after this deadline.

Question

How should I RSVP?

Answer

For RSVPs, please use the RSVP section of our website to let us know if you’ll be joining the celebration! Simply navigate to the RSVP page of our website using the drop-down pages bar or the link on the home page, where you can indicate your attendance and any dietary preferences or special requests.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests; we can only accommodate those formally invited. Invitations and RSVPs are addressed to all the names invited or it will say "Your name" + "Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. If someone from your party can not attend, please note this does not mean you can substitute them with a separate guest in their place.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please do! When you RSVP, there is a section for you to fill out any allergies or dietary accommodations you may have.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We understand that most of our guests will be travelling to join us on our special day, and we appreciate that those who have never been may be unsure where to stay. Penticton is a small lake town with lots of accommodation options! However, there are fewer name-brand hotels and more motels, Airbnb and smaller chain hotels. Please see the accommodations tab for more information.

Question

Are the ceremony and the reception in the same place?

Answer

Yes! Once you get there for the ceremony, you will not need to leave. While the staff finishes getting the reception together, we will have lawn games and a bar open for cocktail hour. The reception will follow on the main lawn. Feel free to leave during cocktail hour if needed, but please return by 5 pm for the start of the reception.

Question

Will the wedding be held indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The entire wedding will be held outdoors! So, we recommend checking the weather forecast ahead of time to ensure you're comfortable. However the seasonal average for July is 30 degrees during the day and 24 degrees after the sun goes down, so it will likely be HOT. We're hoping for beautiful weather, but rain or shine, the celebration will continue outside. We have a tent to keep us covered and will make the most of whatever weather we get!

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends dress up with us! We are requesting summer cocktail/semi-formal. Expect warm weather, around 30°C during the day and 24°C after sunset! While suits are not required, we ask that you avoid jeans, t-shirts and shorts. Ladies, please be mindful of shoe choices, as most of the day will take place on grass—wedges or chunky heels are recommended over stilettos. However, after dinner, once the party starts, feel free to kick them off and get comfy!

Question

Are there any colours I should avoid wearing?

Answer

Ladies please refrain from wearing colors traditionally reserved for the bride. This includes white, ivory, or cream colours.
