After deciding to try online dating on Plenty of Fish, Shaye sent a cute boy a "hello." He responded and made her wonder about him. They soon began chatting on the phone and she fell head over heels for his voice and his way of making her laugh. They decided to meet at the City Center fountain and pretty soon knew that it felt a lot like love.

After a couple of months of dating, Anthony's parents invited us to tag along on a cruise to the Bahamas. Following a quick ride to Charleston, we set sail as dolphins chased us out of the harbor. We captured sea urchins, rode ATVs through the jungle, and attempted to jet-ski in the bluest water either of us had ever seen. It was a trip we will always remember.

We decided that Toby needed another dog to keep him company. We stumbled upon a golden Retriever in North Carolina. In a litter of 6, she was the only girl and we knew she was the one for us. Unfortunately, Roxy severely injured her leg playing in the backyard attempting to risk her life to catch a tennis ball. GRREAT was able to provide her with the surgeries and physical therapy she needed to not lose her leg.

We had been sharing a one story home in Newport News that was owned by a Marine heading back to the area with his family. We began our pursuit and found a cozy 4 bedroom in Hampton with space for us to grow in. As a historical home built in the 40's, we are learning a lot about maintenance and taking our time to fix it up and really make it a place of our own.

After exchanging gifts on Christmas morning, we spent the day watching movies and cooking for Anthony’s family dinner that evening. Once the meal was finished, we sat in his parents living room to share stories and jokes and he suddenly mentions he has another gift to give. He got on one knee, took my hand, and asked. I said yes through ugly tears and we’ve been planning our lives together ever since.
