Shay's mom wanted her to try online dating. After bringing it up several times over a year, Shay finally said yes, if you will pay for it. Shay began to pray that if this was what God wants, He would make it clear and would expose those who did not have the same motives. Exactly a week later Jim sent Shay a message. Both thought how is this going to work, Jim lives in Panama City, Shay lives in Crestview, but lets give it a shot. Shay again prayed Lord if this is the man please make that clear. After messaging daily for a week and half Shay's account was hacked and shut down. We were unable to communicate for 2 or 3 days while Shay was working on getting her new account set up and moved over. We had not gotten to the point of exchanging personal information yet, so we didn't have the others last name, email, phone, anything. We both had a pit in our stomachs, afraid we would not ever be able to talk to the other. Jim created a search as specific as he could with the information he had so if she came back on he could find her. As soon as Shay was able to get back on she began searching for Jim with the information she had about him. Quickly we found one another. We exchanged last names and Facebook information so we would not loose track of one another again. Jim then asked Shay out, and Shay asked a friend to begin to pray along with her. On March 23, 2019 Jim took Shay parasailing and out to dinner. (For those of you that know Shay, you know how perfect that was). Jim knew from the beginning that this was meant to be. Shay needed a little time. She wanted to make sure she was not just making an emotional decision but one that was God led. We have since served together, gone to church together (at both our churches and at Jim's friend, Kevellis' Church), done bible studies together, and discussed what God has for us. God has confirmed in many ways and through many people that this is what He has for us. With God at the center we look forward to becoming one.
