The both of us were in JROTC in high school, and even though we went to different schools, the program had both in marksmanship. We had taken the opportunity to participate, and marksmanship met at the GFPD. We would go and shoot paper targets, and then afterwards would go to Dairy Queen. From there we got closer and closer, until Trey decided to ask Hannah out. To which she promptly said no. Twice. But the third time, in March of 2018, she said yes.
Friday, once I got done with work I went to have my car checked out for the holiday trip the next day and Trey called to let me know that one of my Christmas presents had been delivered and he needed to come and get me for it. When he came to pick me up, he had me pull my hat down over my eyes to blind fold me, and added another hat to be safe. Then we talked about our days while he drove us around. Eventually, we made it somewhere and we stopped. I had an idea that he was going to propose, but our conversation through me for a few loops. He walked me through the snow to where this gift was and when he had me lift the hats he was kneeling down in front of me with a custom book/box holding the two rings and he asked me to marry him. My sister was taking pictures and our friend Maria held a poster. Of course I said yes, and he put the snake ring on my hand and I actually jumped with joy and kissed him. Hallie took pictures, and the trees were frosted over and it was foggy out too. Afterwards, we went to Mexican Village for dinner, and I had thought that would be the end of the night. We would go home, feed our pups, and snuggle into bed. Trey had more planned, and surprised me with our friends having set up the living room with some decorations and our bedroom too. They even had music playing when we walked in. The whole evening was amazing, and we played games too for an impromptu engagement party.
