Where should I stay if I’m coming to Bakersfield?

Answer

There are a list of hotels in the Travel section of the page and some cool places to check out in Things to Do. The newlyweds will be staying at The Padre Hotel the evening of the wedding.

Can I participate in the mass if I am not Catholic?

Answer

Of course! We appreciate and understand that our guests come from all walks in faith. Please feel free to follow along with the mass if you are comfortable. If you prefer to remain seated throughout the ceremony, that is ok as well.

Can I receive Holy Communion during the mass?

Answer

Catholics in good standing are welcome and encouraged to receive communion during the mass. Everyone is welcome to follow the communion line and receive a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest once you reach the Eucharistic Minister. The wedding reception ends pretty early. Is there anything going on after?

The newlyweds will be staying at The Padre Hotel the evening of the wedding. The Things to Do section lists some great Bakersfield hotspots you may want to check out. Otherwise, come by the Padre for a cocktail with The Shaws!
