Shawnta and Rob met at a sports bar in the winter of 2016. A mutual friend invited them both to watch whatever game was on that night. Shawnta was running late, actually she was coming from a date. Being the inquisitive guy that he is Rob had to hear all about the terrible date Shawnta just came from and give her a hard time about her online dating choices. Through multiple friend gatherings Rob and Shawnta became close and eventually became really good friends. They remained friends for 3yrs. Over dinner one night, in 2019, Rob surprised Shawnta by saying he'd like to start dating. After she got over the shock, Shawnta said “no, that would not be a good idea”. The two continued in their friendship but now there was an elephant in the room. A few weeks later Rob brought the topic of dating up again, again Shawnta said “no”. This time Rob said he wouldn’t bring it up again. Following their second conversation Shawnta went on a 2 week vacation to Bali. For the next two weeks, when she was supposed to be getting her “Eat, Pray, Love” on, Shawnta thought about Rob. It didn’t help that she ended up talking to Rob before she went to bed each night and when she woke up each morning. In the end Rob’s persistence paid off, when Shawnta returned from Bali she gave Rob the green light to give dating a try. They have been enriching each other’s lives ever since!
