Divya & Shawn met for the first time in October 2016 when he visited her church. Fast forward to December 2017, Divya was waiting on God to bring someone into her life, and God gave her a promise verse - Romans 8:28 - "God works all things together for our good" and she kept that verse in her heart. In May of 2018, Divya started getting various signs about "August 2018". In that same month, she noticed Shawn pop up all over her social media out of nowhere. Around that same time, Shawn noticed Divya and she was consumed in his thoughts for a few months. They were both confused since they didn’t know each other personally nor were they in contact with each other for the last 2 years, but they were secretly beginning to like each other. They knew that if it was God's will for them to meet again, it would happen without them doing anything. In August 2018, Divya was anticipating something to happen but as the days went by, she was starting to lose hope. During that month, as she was praying for her future husband, she felt God prompting her to write down the date "August 28, 2018". A few days later, Shawn & Divya’s mutual friend Thomas Mammen, not knowing their secret, was prompted to text them both separately asking if they would be open to meeting someone. Shawn knew who he was about to meet and planned to surprise Divya but she didn’t know who she would meet. The next day, Divya & Thomas attended church and went to dinner. As they entered the line at Velvet Taco, she turned to her side and to her greatest surprise SHAWN was standing nervously by the counter waiting for her. They talked over dinner and Shawn felt tremendous peace and wanted to pursue Divya. She thought it was all a huge coincidence, but God was behind it all. It finally made sense to her why God gave Romans 8:28 as a promise verse because 8 months later, he fulfilled that promise on 8/28/2018 by bringing Shawn and Divya together. God really has an interesting way in working all things for our good!
