Loren & I have basically circled around each other since we were teenagers. We had several mutual friends in high school and attended the same soccer games, but never actually met since he was always on the opposing team. Later, Loren moved to Phoenix when we was 22, the same year I made a couple trips to visit family in the area. Since then we’ve attended the same concerts and even lived 3 minutes apart for the 5 years leading up to our first date. We took our kids to play at the same park, shopped at the same stores, all still without ever having met! All of that changed February 25th, 2017 when Loren finally worked up the courage to message me on Match.com. We talked everyday for 2 weeks before he finally asked me out on a date. Another month later was our first kiss.... two weeks after that, he bribed me with gifts from his spring break trip to Oregon with Lily, and asked me to be his girl friend! He took me on my first vacation in 10 years, to the Oregon coast that August, where he took me onto a cliff overlooking the ocean and told me he would marry me one day.... and June 27th of 2018 we welcomed our son, Atlas Van Thoren. Loren made it official and proposed on February 21st, which is the same day my grandparents were married! Loren is the most thoughtful and amazing man I have ever met in my entire life. I admire him so much and I am forever grateful to have his love in return. I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with such a hardworking and devoted man!
