Hershey, Pa

Hershey is famous for Hersheypark but Hershey is also the home to Troegs Brewery, Hershey Gardens, Hershey's Chocolate World (No fee for visiting), as well as tons of shopping and dining. Hershey is about 45 minutes from the Cork Factory Hotel.

More than 60 local vendors call the beautiful 1889 Market House home on 3 days a week (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday). Lancaster Central Market is 5 minutes from the Cork Factory Hotel.

President James Buchanan's Wheatland Mansion

Step back in time with a visit to the home of James Buchanan, 15th President of the United States. Situated on a 10 acre Campus of History in the heart of Lancaster County, Wheatland is a beautifully preserved Federal style mansion restored to reflect the appearance of the house during Buchanan's 1856 campaign for the Presidency. Wheatland is less than a 10 minute drive from the Cork Factory Hotel.

Strasburg Rail Road

Take a ride on America's oldest operating railroad at Strasburg Rail Road. During the relaxing 45-minute train ride, you can soak in the scenery as you travel through Lancaster County’s picturesque farmland. The authentic steam trains offer various seating options (Presidential, First-Class, Coach, and Open-Air Cars). For the Thomas the Tank Engine fans, check the schedule. Thomas the Tank Engine may be at Strasburg the weekend of the wedding! Strasburg Railroad is just over 20 minutes from the Cork Factory Hotel.

You can watch Amish and Mennonite ladies making jams and jellies on site, and you can taste test a variety of freshly-made products. If you are heading to Kitchen Kettle Village for a bit of shopping, stop in The Kling House Restaurant for lunch. Put your name in before strolling the village as it can get crowded.

Frisco's Chicken - Lancaster City

Frisco's Peruvian Chicken comes highly recommended by a Lancaster Native. Friscos is next door to the Cork Factory Hotel. They are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Lancaster Dispensing Company

"DipCo" is an old standby in Lancaster and an easy 5 minute drive. Located next to Lancaster Central Marketing, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

The Fridge

Another recommendation from a Lancaster native for beer lovers is The Fridge. They offer more than 400 beers by the bottle that you can at the establishment or mix & match to go. They also offer a carefully curated, rotating selection of draft beers for here, or to go in 16oz & 32oz crowlers. Their fresh, creative, locally-focused and sourced food menu includes house-made flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, tacos, hot dogs, soups, salads and snacks, and features both vegetarian and vegan options. They are open from noon to 10 p.m.

American Bar & Grill

Don't let the exterior of this building scare you off! This "hole in the wall" serves great food and is a local favorite. "ABG" is open from 11 a.m. - midnight and is a 5 minute drive from the Cork Factory Hotel.

On the property of the Cork Factory Hotel, Cork & Cap Restaurant is a convenient, and delicious, option for dinner. The restaurant opens at 5 p.m. Wednesday - Saturday. The bar opens at 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Quips Pub

Just across the street from the Cork Factory Hotel is Quips Pub. One of the oldest establishments in Lancaster, Quips serves traditionally English fare named after characters in Dicken's novels. Quips opens at 4 p.m.
