It's happening!!!

Hey guys! We're still on for 8/1/2020 despite the uncertainty in the world. If your plans change, please know that we understand and just let us know ASAP. We are doing everything we can to make sure that you are safe during the reception. It will be outdoors under a tent with larger tables and the ability to spread out. There is plenty of hand sanitizer and masks for your convenience. We also have digital thermometers - so don't come with a fever - we'll know! Shawn and Stephanie met in 2016 while working a match together at USAV's Adult Open tournament in Orlando. Since their match was running so late, they had time to kill which was spent talking and really hitting it off. We didn't get to spend much time together other than seeing each other in passing for the next couple of days. Little did Stephanie know, Shawn made sure that they saw each other in passing during that time. On the last day of the tournament, Shawn got done well before Stephanie, and waited for her to finish her matches. And waited. Man that was a long day. They were going to try to grab a drink or dinner, but because it was so late, and Stephanie's flight left so early, Shawn walked her back to her hotel before saying goodnight. They talked on the phone every day for the next month as Stephanie had returned to Seattle and Shawn returned home to Nashville. They discovered that they would both be at another tournament in Orlando at the same time later in June and made plans to have dinner before the tournament started thinking there wouldn't be time to spend together as he was reffing and she was coaching. Shawn and Stephanie met up for dinner at Johnny's Hideaway in Orlando. Wouldn't it be funny if Shawn was the referee on Stephanie's court? Well, he was. To this day, we believe that fate intervened to make sure that we met each other and were able to spend time together.

Shawn and Stephanie were visiting her family in December 2018 over her school's Christmas break. Whenever Shawn and Stephanie are in Orlando, they try to visit Johnny's Hideaway for a meal where they had their first date. Shawn had made the reservation and Stephanie was clueless. Shawn had been working with the managers and staff to make sure that this night was special. When they arrived at the restaurant, Shawn grabbed his backpack out of the car. Stephanie looked at him funny, and he said he needed it to change his glasses in the restaurant. You all know about Shawn and his many pairs of glasses, so Stephanie didn't think twice about it. They were seated in a quiet area of the restaurant, and spent the meal engaged in deep conversation. Shawn had gotten up a couple of times to check in with the manager and once to pass his phone to the hostess who was able to video record everything. Shawn waited until dessert came to make his move - initial bummer for Stephanie because she had to put her spoon of ice cream down - but as he got out of his seat to get on one knee, surprise filled her face. She actually looked around thinking her Mom was in on it (which would not be surprising) and instead noticed most of the restaurant staff taking photos and videos that would later be shared. Of course, I said yes. Emphatically and a million times yes! Looking back, I don't even remember all the beautiful words he said, but I remember the look of love on his face and not being able to stop smiling because I knew that I had found my soulmate through thick and thin.
