Rocky Mountain National Park is truly a nature lover's destination! Due to the increase in visitors, RMNC has implemented a time-entry permit system. In summary, if you wish to enter the park during peak hours (usually between 9am and 2pm or 5pm depending on the date of entry) you'll need to reserve a permit online. This is in addition to the park entry fee. On Aug. 1, reservations will be available for September. September is still considered peak season so please plan ahead if you wish to visit during your time here. Pro Tip: I find it's better to arrive at any of the RMNP trailheads by 8 am to avoid the time-entry AND the crowds! You can also avoid the time-entry permit by taking a shuttle (for free) More information on the shuttle service can be found here: https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/shuttle-buses-and-public-transit.htm More information on time-entry can be found here: https://www.nps.gov/romo/getinvolved/timed-entry-permits-questions-answers.htm
