South Slope is the brewery district of Asheville, with over ten breweries, a cidery and a distillery. Some of our favorite breweries include Twin Leaf Brewing and Wicked Weed Funkatorium. We also love grabbing a (HUGE) slice from Pie.zaa and walking by the "dog parking doghouse" at Bear's Smokehouse Barbecue.
While we have yet to do it ourselves, the Biltmore is one of Asheville's most well-known and popular attractions. You can spend the entire day touring Biltmore House, exploring the gardens, sipping wine at the vineyards, shopping in Biltmore Village and exploring all the myriad other offerings.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 469-mile ribbon of road that connects Shenandoah National Park (Virginia) and Great Smoky Mountains National Park (North Carolina). As the Parkway approaches Asheville, it offers breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi River and access to the area's best hiking trails. The Parkway is easy to explore with no admission fee and frequent, paved overlooks. he best and easiest way to explore the Blue Ridge Parkway is to go for a drive!
